Client Involved in Deadly Shooting Granted Probation

In 2019, a young man participated in a robbery gone wrong in a central Lubbock neighborhood. Tragically, it ended in the death of a victim and two suspects were charged with murder.

Fred represented one suspect (the driver) and was able to secure a plea deal for aggravated robbery while the murder charge was dismissed. Aggravated robbery is a first degree felony in Texas with a minimum sentence of 5 years up to life in prison. The second suspect pled guilty to a charge of murder and was sentenced to 40 years in prison.

In December 2020, Fred was able to get his client released on bond with several conditions. This week, after showing compliance with all bond requirements, Fred secured 5 years of probation for his client.

From murder suspect to an aggravated robbery charge to being released on bond to 5 years of probation. Often a successful result for a criminal defendant takes time and action.

The client is now 25 years old and will be able to live a full life in freedom after putting the incident behind him. Fred never gave up defending his client and is glad to see him become a law abiding citizen.
