Chappell, Lanehart & Stangl is proud to announce Megan Gower was awarded best advocate in the 2023 regional American Bar Association National Appellate Advocacy Competition in Los Angeles.

Megan is a second-year student at Texas Tech University School of Law, and has worked as a law clerk for our firm since she was an undergraduate at Tech. Next month, Megan will travel with her team to Washington, D.C. to compete for the national title.

Other members of her team are Barry Klein, awarded third best advocate, and Brooke Brewer, who won the best brief award. The Texas Tech team went undefeated through the entire regional competition, and was coached by Rob Sherwin, Kristen LaFreniere and Justice Larry Doss.
