Downtown Lubbock is changing and the City of Lubbock is moving forward on the next phase of making the Omni Building, City Hall. Chuck Lanehart was interviewed by KAMC News Lubbock on the move.

Local business owners, including Chuck Lanehart, an attorney at Chappell, Lanehart & Stangl, said the old Omni building detoured traffic because falling tiles repeatedly closed streets. He believes the Citizens Tower will increase traffic and business downtown once construction is complete.

“The city is using property that would otherwise be sitting in downtown Lubbock as a big old eyesore,” said Lanehart.

While Chappell, Lanehart & Stangl has been at Avenue K for years, the Omni building has fallen into disarray. Once complete, Lubbock’s new City Hall will be close to the criminal law firm.
