Concealed Handguns on Texas school campuses

On Saturday, September 10th, Fred spoke to the West Texas Paralegals Association on the topic of carrying firearms on the campuses of Texas schools. His talk included the School Marshal program, which gives school districts the option to certify certain employees as school marshals. Once they complete a rigorous training program established by statute, these school marshals could then carry concealed handguns, subject to certain limitations.

He also talked about the existence of “Guardian plans” which also allow school district employees to carry concealed handguns on school grounds, but with the rules and regulations being established by the school districts themselves. Finally, Fred spoke about the new laws governing carrying concealed handguns on the campuses of Texas colleges and universities.
